Pangkor Island Beach Resort is located off the coast of Lumut in the estate of Perak. Lumut is a quiet little fishing village, renown for its beautiful shell and coral craft, and is to be found 84 km south of Perak's capital city, Ipoh. The scenic landscape along the North-South Highway makes driving from Kuala Lumpur or Penang a pleasant journeyEx Kuala Lumpur -->
Option 1
Take the North South Expressway, heading towards Ipoh. Exit at Gopeng Toll Plaza (45km after the Bidor exit). From Gopeng toll, turn right and continue the journey on the 2 lanes motorway heading to Batu Gajah. and proceed all the way to Lumut by following the sign board clearly indicating "Lumut". Look out for signboard indicating "Tronoh", "Sri Iskandar" and "Lumut". The smooth and commercial traffic free journey from Gopeng to Lumut is about 86km.
Take the North South Expressway, heading towards Ipoh. Exit at Bidor Toll Plaza. Fom Bidor town continue the journey via the trunk road all the way to Lumut by following the sign board towards Pangkor Island Beach Resort or "Pelabuhan Lumut". Look out for signboard indicating "Teluk Intan" and "Sitiawan" and "Pulau Pangkor". The journey from Bidor to Lumut is about 110km
If you wish to drive there, you need to get off the North-South Highway at either Gopeng (if you are from the South) or Simpang Pulai (if you are from the north) interchange. Then you should follow the road sign to Batu Gajah then to Lumut. It would take around an hour to reach Lumut town. After reaching Lumut, you have to park your vehicle at Lumut dedicated public parking building at RM10 per 24 hours, since visitors cannot drive their own cars on Pangkor Island. Public buses would take you to the bus station in Lumut town as well.
However, if you have booked your accommodation in Pangkor Island Beach Resort, there are an alternative and dedicated ferry service in Lumut Water Front, which will take you directly to the small jetty nearby the resort and a regular shuttle bus service will pick you up to the Pangkor Island Beach Resort, and at a higher ferry cost (which costs the same as you would pay for the public ferry plus taxi fares to the resort).
